Project details:
The former Levy Fils electrical equipment factory at Lothringerstrasse 147-165 has been transformed into the musicians’ apartment block. The 9 residential units each have a soundproofed practice room. The residential offer is complemented by 2 spacious communal flats, each with an area of almost 190m2 and separately connected music rooms, 4 one-room guest flats, 4 practice rooms (2 additionally connected to a recording studio), the ‘Weisser Saal’ performance room, an in-house canteen and a playhouse for the next generation of musicians.
The human being in the room is at the centre here in the careful handling of the environment and conditions. The aim is to create a sense of well-being without technical intrusiveness and to make the occupants feel comfortable and to meet their needs in terms of light, media, handling and design without losing any of the functionality and flexibility.
