In this group we summarise a handful of domiciles of people from public and private life who push technology to its limits. Visions are realised here, ideas are realised with a pioneering spirit and dreams come true … Installations are created where conservatories and cars sink into the ground, swimming pools mutate into cinemas, outdoor areas simulate artificial streams and are transformed thematically into bloodbaths and frost forests, the transparent properties of glass change, rooms and even entire houses are staged and communication can be experienced with technology. In such buildings, security and personal safety take on a whole new dimension, audio/video are given the highest priority and visualisation is raised to a new level. However, this also creates a mass of technology from whose overwhelming burden the residents must be protected. Endless data points are linked and incorporated into control systems together with facilities in order to make everyday life easier through the desired independence. Visual displays are used to establish a connection with one’s own technology, information is retrieved by touch and statuses are linked to processes. Welcome to a smart environment …
