AV & lighting renewal University
Built in 1939, the Kollegienhaus is one of the most representative buildings of the University of Basel and, after years of operation, showed the limits of audiovisual media technology from the last refurbishment to the current state of the art. Under the direction of the commissioned media planner, the AV media technology, including the necessary high-voltage and low-current installations in the two listed Regenz and faculty rooms as well as in the 7 lecture theatres in the Petersplatz wing of the building, was renovated in a first stage in addition to smaller rooms. A second stage comprised 2 further lecture theatres as well as 2 classrooms and 13 seminar and study rooms in the Petersgraben wing. A further stage involved replacing the lighting in the 13 seminar and study rooms with DALI-controlled LED lights. The top priority for all three stages was the unwavering adherence to daily schedules during the lecture-free periods.
