Arlesheim Cathedral
The cathedral, which is over 300 years old, is the landmark of Arlesheim. Its restoration also included the overdue refurbishment of the entire electrical installations in collaboration with the conservation authorities. This included the replacement of distribution boards, the removal of historical parts of the building from the existing installation extensions and the complete renewal of the existing installations. Another important concern was the elimination of visible fire detectors in the historic vaulted ceiling. With RAS (smoke aspiration system) in sound-insulated housings and linear detectors with reflectors across the church interior, a solution was found that met the criteria for the preservation of historical monuments. The use of a modern control system, operated via iPads, facilitates the operation of the church in terms of lighting, heating and bell control.
