Project details:
The electrical installations and systems in the Roman Catholic parish church, built in 1938, were getting on in years and needed to be completely renovated and modernised. Special attention was also paid to eliminating visible elements. Special attention was therefore paid to the lighting design. The obtrusive pendant lighting in the centre of the church gave way to recessed luminaires with a special low beam, while spotlights with a focussed look set deliberate accents from the background. A scene control system simplifies the church’s operation and it was just as important to refurbish the sound system. The built-in loudspeaker with two specially designed sound horns replaces the disruptive loudspeakers on the pillars.
Lighting and technical equipment are not a priority in religious buildings and their ancillary facilities, and are deliberately ‘suppressed’. However, technical development does not stop here either; despite everything, there is a need for lighting, audio, technical building systems and their operation.
