Project details:
The modern Timotheus Centre in Dornach is divided into two sections. While the ground floor houses a flexibly usable community hall with kitchen, technology and ancillary rooms, the divisible church hall with mobile facilities can be reached via a few steps on the street side. Adaptable and flexible lighting and sound systems were one of the challenges. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of the lighting in the church hall in order to preserve the special design and architecture.
Lighting and technical equipment are not a priority in religious buildings and their ancillary facilities, and are deliberately ‘suppressed’. However, technical development does not stop here either; despite everything, there is a need for lighting, audio, technical building systems and their operation.
